Read more about us at venicefamilyclinic.org.Venice Family Clinic is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their accounting and finance team. This position is primarily responsible for the procurement of materials and services for our Venice Family Clinic locations. This work involves the review of requisitions, the preparation of bid documents, the review and award of bids, an understanding of funding sources and account coding, the creation of contracts and purchase orders, and the monitoring and modifications of purchasing documents as needed. All work adheres to Venice Family Clinic and UCLA's procurement law and purchasing policies. In this role, the individual will also be responsible for communication with requisitioners, receivers, suppliers, project managers, site managers, Finance, IT, and Facilities teams.Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are core values of the Venice Family Clinic. QualificationsRequired* Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and vendors.* Good communication skills to obtain and convey information clearly and concisely.* Ability to negotiate prices and contracts with vendors.* Strong Math Skills and proficiency with a 10-key calculator.* Proficient computer skills in Word and Excel, and typing skills to prepare forms and reports with moderate speed and accuracy.* Skill in setting priorities regarding the relative importance of job responsibilities.* Ability to work with minimal supervision.* Strong understanding of supply management* Ability to occasionally bend, lift, stretch, and reach below the waist and above the head* Ability to move items up to 20 poundsStrongly Preferred: Bachelor's degree and three years of purchasing experience.
